Karwa Chauth Puja Vidhi (करवा चौथ व्रत पूजा विधि)

If you do not know the correct method of Karva Chauth then follow the points given below:-

  • Collect all the materials required for Karva Chauth.
  • On the day of fasting, after taking a bath in the morning, recite the line ‘Mam Sukhsaubhagya Putraputradi Susthir Shri Praptye
  • Karak Chaturthi Vratmahan Karishye.
  • Stay dehydrated throughout the day.
  • Make a plaque on the wall with ocher and paint it with a solution of ground rice. This is called groom. The art of painting is called Karva Dharna.
  • Make Athawari of eight puris. Make pudding. Prepare cooked dishes.
  • Make Gauri from yellow clay and make Ganeshji sit on his lap.
  • Make Gauri sit on a wooden seat. Make a square and place the seat on it. Cover Gauri with chunari. Decorate Gauri with wedding accessories like bindi etc.
  • Keep a pot filled with water. To give Vayana (offering), get a clay spout made. Fill the Karwa with wheat and sugar powder in the lid. Place Dakshina on it.
  • Make Swastika on Karwa with Roli.
  • Worship Gauri-Ganesha and painted Karva as per tradition. Wish for the long life of your husband. “Namah Shivaayi Sharvanyai Saubhagyam Santati Shubham. “Prayachch Bhaktiyuktaanaam Narinaam Harvallabhe.”
  • Place 13 bindis on Karva and hold 13 grains of wheat or rice in your hand and say or listen to the story of Karva Chauth.
  • After listening to the story, turn your hands on the Karva touch the feet of your mother-in-law, and take blessings and give the Karva to her.
  • Keep aside thirteen grains of wheat and a pot of water with a spout.
  • After the moon rises at night, look at it through a sieve and offer water to the moon.
  • After this take blessings from your husband. Feed them and have food yourself.
